Janet, a prison psychologist for potential parolees, finds herself drawn to Robert Moss, an inmate convicted of a bank robbery. After his release she and Moss begin a heated affair, but as he struggles to adjust to life "on the outside," someone is murdered. Will Janet turn in her dangerous lover before she becomes his next victim?

Adam’s Passion is the moving first collaboration between two “masters of slow motion who harmonize perfectly with each other” (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung). In the spectacular setting of a former submarine factory, American director and universal artist Robert Wilson creates a poetic visual world in which the mystical musical language of the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt can cast its meditative spell. Three of Pärt’s major works – Adam’s Lament, Tabula rasa, and Miserere, as well as Sequentia, a new work composed especially for this production – are brought together here using light, space, and movement to create a tightly-woven Gesamtkunstwerk in which the artistic visions of these two great artists mirror each other.

Set in early 1900s France, a widow renews a former romantic interest until it is discovered that he has had a past fling with one of her new employees, a nanny. This sets the two women into many well-mannered accusations and conversations, but no modern brawling, and puts him in the middle or possibly on the outside.

After defending a mine in Mexico against outlaws Hugh Kenyon is discharged by his employer, who has been convinced by another that Hugh is dishonest. Unable to find work Hugh in desperation goes to the home of his former boss forcing his way at gunpoint. Confronted the mine owner realizes Hugh’s innate honesty discharging the man who falsely accused Hugh who gets his job back.

What appears to be a cut-and-dried case of murder of an aging one time showgirl on Hampstead Heath by her lover is complicated by several factors, including a far more respectable paramour, and her insistence that a great inheritance was due her that nobody can verify.
